In the realm of holistic well-being, various ancient practices intertwine celestial energies with the human experience. One such intriguing discipline is Medical Astrology—a captivating fusion of astrology and health sciences. Let's delve into what Medical Astrology is and unravel the cosmic intricacies that shape this unique approach to understanding and optimizing health.

What is Medical Astrology?

At its core, Medical Astrology is a system that explores the connection between celestial bodies and the well-being of individuals. Rooted in ancient traditions, this practice views the human body as a microcosm reflecting the macrocosm of the universe. The belief is that the positions and movements of celestial bodies at the time of one's birth can influence health and predispositions to certain ailments. This can then show us health concerns that MAY arise, WHY health concerns are currently happening, HOW to fix those current ailments, and WHAT may happen in the future. It can also help us predict safe surgery dates, addictions and how to overcome them, compatibility between practitioner and client/patient, and so much more.

How Does Medical Astrology Work?

**1. Planetary Influences: Medical Astrology operates on the premise that each planet exerts a distinct influence on specific body systems. The Sun, Moon, Mars, Venus, Saturn, Jupiter, and Mercury are the primary players, each contributing unique energies that affect our physical and mental states.

**2. Zodiac Sign Associations: The zodiac signs play a crucial role in Medical Astrology. Each sign governs a particular body system or organ of the body. This creates the Zodiac Man. We start with Aries in the head and move through the signs, down the body, until we reach the feet, which are ruled by Pisces. Each planet exerts a particular influence over the signs body systems that it is found in, in your Natal Chart. For example: If you have your Mars in Aries, Mars hot, drying, inflammatory influence will be exerted over the head.

**3. Astrological Houses: The astrological chart, or natal chart, is a key tool in Medical Astrology. Divided into 12 houses, each representing different aspects of life, these houses correspond to specific body systems. Analyzing the positions of planets within these houses helps pinpoint potential health issues. The main houses I focus on are the 1st, 6th, 8th, and 12th. As these correspond to your spirit, your overall health, your psyche, and your hidden self that you keep under wraps.

**4. Malefics and Benefics: Planets are categorized as Malefics or Benefics based on their influence. Malefics, such as Saturn and Mars, are believed to have challenging effects on health, while Benefics, like Venus and Jupiter, bring positive energies. These also balance each other out. Mars is balanced by Venus and Saturn is balanced by Jupiter.

**5. Chiron, the Wounded Healer: In Medical Astrology, Chiron—a celestial body between Saturn and Uranus—holds a unique role. Known as the wounded healer, Chiron reveals areas of deep-seated wounds or pain in one's life that may manifest as health issues. Many times these are pyscho-somatic issues. Meaning they are one’s that are of a spiritual/energetic/emotional cause, but create actual physical symptoms in the body.

The Cosmic Symphony of Health:

**1. Individualized Insights: Medical Astrology offers a personalized approach to health by considering the unique Cosmic Blueprint of an individual. By examining the natal chart (called a Planetary Health Chart in Medical Astrology), practitioners can identify potential health predispositions, potential causes, and ways to restore balance and tailor advice for optimal well-being.

**2. Preventive Medicine: Unlike traditional medicine, which often focuses on treating existing conditions, Medical Astrology emphasizes prevention. By understanding potential vulnerabilities, individuals can take proactive steps to maintain balance and prevent health issues. Through health coaching, one can learn the all important “Skills before Pills” concept that I teach, where one learns to listen to their body, return to their body, and work with their body when dis-ease and imbalance occur, to help restore health and vitality.

**3. Holistic Integration: Medical Astrology recognizes the interconnectedness of the mind, body, and spirit. It takes into account not only physical symptoms but also the emotional and spiritual aspects that contribute to overall health. It is one of the most integrative and holistic tools in the health space currently.

**4. Empowerment Through Self-Knowledge: One of the strengths of Medical Astrology is its ability to empower individuals with self-awareness. By gaining insights into their unique cosmic makeup, individuals can make informed choices that align with their overall well-being, as well as stopping the shame and blame cycle for being exactly who they are designed to be.

Closing Thoughts: Navigating the Cosmic Blueprint

Medical Astrology is a fascinating journey into the cosmic tapestry that weaves together celestial energies and human health. It provides a complementary perspective to our current healthcare model and is an amazing tool to see inside your body on a Cosmic level.
